Migrated to Australia in 1969 from Glasgow, Scotland.
Represented South Australia at junior level Under 12, 13 and 14
and played for Enfield Victoria, also played for Adelaide City (NSL)
between 1980 and 1982 and again in 1984, playing 40 games and
scoring 15 goals. In 1981 was the NSL Under 21 Player of the
Year.
Represented Australia on 44 occasions scoring 15 goals also
represented Australia in the World Youth Championships in 1981
and the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988. The first Australian to
play in four Senior World Cup campaigns 1982-86-90-94 and was
the first Australian to play in the Scottish Premier League,
German Bundesliga and the Dutch Premier League.
Inducted into the FFA Hall of Fame in 2006 in the Hall of
Champions as a member for Outstanding Perfromance.” |
